THE BEAT DADDYS!!!

Every now and then, you come across a band with something unique and different. “The Beat Daddys” are just such a band. With new DOA member Britt Meacham on lead guitar, they have a sound and style all their own. They describe themselves as “Southern rockin’ blues with a soulful attitude”. After listening to their CD, “The Beat Daddys Live”, I would have to say that this description hits the nail right on the head. I don’t usually go for this type of music, but this CD has changed my mind. Blues-oriented rock bands are a dime-a-dozen, but these guys manage to keep it fresh and exciting. Britt’s style is that of his own and I don’t think he every played the same lick twice on this CD. He plays a 1981 Dean V Flame that has been customized to his own personal specs. This CD was recorded live and it is one of the best sounding live recordings I have every heard. Britt’s tone is right on the money. He does a lot of work with the neck pickup, but he manages to keep that biting edge. Man, this CD is cool. Check them out at www.beatdaddys.com. Britt, we are glad to have you in the club.

There are some really cool things happening at Dean Guitars these days. One of the best things about being DOA Pres. is being privy to "inside info". Elliott, Dean Z and all the crew at Dean Guitars are working constantly to stay on the cutting edge of the industry. I will keep you all informed when news is available. Have a great week and keep playing those Deans.
